Training

The Travelife Training provides you with the knowledge and skills to effectively introduce sustainability in your company.

The basic training course is based on the practical experiences of front-runner companies and  leading educational institutes. One of the Travelife award requirements is the training and personal certification of the appointed company sustainability co-ordinator  The course and examination are also open to other staff, students and other interested professionals.

The training is available in more than 15 languages and has been tailored to different countries and  types of travel companies such as tour operators (incoming & outgoing) and retail travel agents.

Training content

During the training you will learn:

  • How to make and implement a sustainability mission statement, policy and action plan;
  • How to improve your internal sustainability management (e.g. how to ‘green’ your office and how to treat employees fairly);
  • About the sustainability impacts of your accommodation, transport and excursion providers;
  • Actions you can take to improve sustainability of your suppliers;
  • How to positively motivate your customers to make more sustainable choices during their holidays.

To provide you with inspiration and insight, the training is enriched with more than 200 best practice examples of what other companies have already done successfully. 

Personal certification

The training leads to an online exam and provides successful candidates with a personal Travelife certificate. You will be able to prepare yourself for the exam with ‘informal’ exams in order to test your knowledge.
