Assessment and certification process
Travelife Partner assessment
To achieve Travelife Partner recognition, a company completes the Travelife Partner self-assessment and submits the required information and supporting evidence.
An independent assessor reviews the submission against the applicable Travelife Partner criteria. Where information or evidence is incomplete, additional clarification or corrective action may be requested.
Once compliance with the applicable requirements has been independently verified, Travelife Partner recognition can be granted.
Travelife Certified audit
Companies progressing towards Travelife Certified complete a self-assessment against the full Travelife Certified Standard and submit the required documentation and supporting evidence.
The certification process includes an independent audit consisting of a document review and an extensive on-site assessment. The auditor evaluates whether the applicable Travelife requirements have been implemented in practice. This includes reviewing documentation and records, interviewing management and employees and sampling evidence from different areas of the company’s operations.
Where non-conformities are identified, the company must provide appropriate corrective action and evidence before certification can be granted.
Following completion of the audit, an audit report is prepared documenting the findings and conformity with the applicable requirements.
Review and certification decision
Assessment and audit findings are subject to review before a decision on recognition or certification is made.
The decision is based on the applicable Travelife criteria, the assessment or audit results and the supporting evidence. Recognition or certification is granted only when the applicable requirements have been met.
Reassessment and recertification
Travelife Partner and Travelife Certified are not one-time assessments.
Companies are reassessed every two years to verify that they continue to meet the applicable Travelife criteria and maintain the systems and practices required for their recognition level.
For Travelife Certified, this includes a new independent certification audit.
Non-conformity, suspension and withdrawal
Where a company does not meet an applicable requirement, corrective action may be required within a defined timeframe.
Serious, repeated or unresolved non-conformities, or failure to comply with applicable programme requirements, may result in suspension or withdrawal of Travelife recognition or certification. The use of the corresponding Travelife logo and related claims is subject to the validity of the company’s recognition status.
Appeals and complaints
Companies have the right to appeal decisions concerning their assessment, recognition or certification.
Travelife also provides a complaints procedure through which companies, consumers and other stakeholders can raise concerns relating to the assessment process, a recognised company, or the use of the Travelife recognition and logo.
Appeals and complaints are handled according to documented procedures designed to ensure objective and impartial consideration.
