About Travelife
Travelife is a global sustainability programme specifically developed for tour operators and other travel companies.
Since its establishment in 2007, Travelife has combined sustainability expertise with the practical experience of the travel industry. Its approach recognises the particular position of travel companies: they manage their own business operations while also working with extensive international supply chains involving accommodation providers, transport companies, excursion and activity providers, guides, destinations and other local partners.
Travelife was therefore designed not simply as a sustainability standard, but as an integrated system for learning, management, implementation, supply-chain engagement and independent recognition.
Companies receive training, practical tools and personal support to develop their sustainability management approach and progressively implement the Travelife requirements. Independent third-party assessment verifies what has been implemented and provides the basis for Travelife recognition and certification.
Today, Travelife is used by more than 1,500 travel companies in more than 130 countries and cooperates with tourism associations, destinations, experts and other sector partners to support the further development of sustainability practices across the tourism industry.
