Certification pathway
Travelife supports tour operators and travel agencies through a step-by-step process towards independently assessed sustainability recognition and certification.
Companies start with the Travelife Engaged phase, during which they gain access to the Travelife training, tools and criteria and work towards implementing the applicable requirements.
Once ready for independent assessment, companies can progress through two recognition levels: Travelife Partner and Travelife Certified.
Travelife Engaged – Preparatory phase
Travelife Engaged is the starting phase of the Travelife programme. Companies use the Travelife training, tools and online platform to develop their sustainability approach, implement the applicable requirements and prepare for independent assessment.
Travelife Engaged is not a certification or recognition level and does not provide the right to use a Travelife sustainability recognition logo.
Travelife Partner – Entry recognition level
Travelife Partner is the first independently assessed recognition level. Companies must demonstrate that they meet the applicable Travelife Partner requirements before recognition is granted.

Travelife Certified – Highest certification level
Travelife Certified is the highest recognition level within the Travelife programme. It recognises companies that meet the full Travelife Certified Standard and whose implementation has been assessed through an extensive independent on-site audit.

Independent assessment and regular reassessment
Travelife Partner and Travelife Certified are granted only after successful independent assessment against the applicable Travelife requirements. Companies are reassessed every two years to confirm continued compliance.
