Sustainability management system
Working on sustainability goes beyond implementing individual measures. It requires a structured management approach that integrates sustainability into business operations and decision-making.
The Travelife Sustainability Management System supports companies in this process through six practical steps:
- Engagement – engage the company and appoint a Sustainability Coordinator;
- Baseline assessment – assess the relevant sustainability aspects and current practices of the company;
- Policy – develop and implement a sustainability policy, including objectives and commitments;
- Action planning and implementation – develop an action plan, define responsibilities and implement concrete measures;
- Monitoring – monitor implementation of the action plan, progress towards objectives and relevant sustainability performance;
- Reporting – report on sustainability activities, progress and achievements.
Together, these six steps provide a continuous management cycle that helps companies move from commitment and initial assessment to implementation, monitoring, reporting and further improvement.
The Travelife management system has been developed in line with internationally recognised management standards and guidelines, including EMAS III (the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 26000 guidance on social responsibility.
The Travelife online platform supports companies throughout these steps and connects the management system with the self-assessment, policy development, action planning, monitoring and reporting tools.
