Working with suppliers
A significant part of the environmental and social effects of tourism occurs within the tourism supply chain. Travelife therefore provides dedicated tools to help companies work systematically with accommodation providers, inbound partner agencies, transport companies, excursion and activity providers and other suppliers.
The Travelife supplier tools help companies identify relevant sustainability risks and priorities, communicate expectations, collect sustainability information and encourage suppliers to implement recognised sustainability practices and certification.
The platform includes supplier-specific tools and checklists adapted to different types of suppliers. A particular feature is that relevant sustainability information on shared suppliers, especially inbound partner agencies, can be shared between participating outbound travel companies. This enables companies to build on information already available within the Travelife network rather than each company requesting the same information separately.
This common approach reduces duplication for both travel companies and suppliers, supports more consistent sustainability expectations and helps Travelife companies strengthen their collective influence in encouraging improvements throughout the tourism supply chain.
