Training and professional development
Knowledge and skills are essential for effectively integrating sustainability into a tourism company.
Each Travelife member appoints a Sustainability Coordinator, who is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Travelife programme within the company and is required to successfully complete the core Travelife sustainability trainings.
Sustainability does not, however, depend on one person alone. Travelife members can register additional staff members for the online training programme at no additional cost, enabling employees in different roles and departments to develop knowledge and skills relevant to their responsibilities.
In addition to the core sustainability trainings, Travelife offers a range of specialised courses, including:
- Carbon management
- Sustainability communication with consumers
- Sustainability training for tour guides
- Internal environmental management
- Human rights
- Child protection in tourism
- Animal welfare
Training can be followed online and at the participant's own pace. Successful completion is documented through tests and examinations, enabling companies to demonstrate the development of relevant sustainability knowledge and competence throughout their organisation.
